Alcohol guidelines
To ensure an enjoyable experience, we would like to remind all participants to follow Norwegian laws regarding alcohol:
Public Drinking
In accordance with Norwegian regulations, it is strictly prohibited to bring beverages into or out of a restaurant /bar / lobby area. Violating this policy may create issues for the establishments.
Additionally, restaurants and bars have the right and responsibility to refuse service to guests who are excessively intoxicated. Failing to uphold this responsibility may also result in complications for the establishment.
Alcohol Sales
Bars and Restaurants:
Bars in Norway can sell beer and wine from 08:00 and spirits from 13:00. Beer and wine can be consumed in outdoor serving areas from 11:00. Last orders at 02:30 (Lobby bars) and 03:00 (Stavkroa).
Grocery stores:
Beer and cider can be purchased in grocery stores until 20:00 on weekdays and 18:00 on Saturdays. No alcohol sales are permitted on Sundays.
Liquor Stores (Vinmonopolet):
All wine, spirits, and stronger beers are sold exclusively at Vinmonopolet, which closes earlier than grocery stores.
Pro tip
We encourage you to buy your refreshments upon arrival at Oslo Airport, in the duty free shop (bring your boarding card). This is cheaper than buying them at “Vinmonopolet”.
Check out the availability / pre-order here!
We encourage everyone to enjoy responsibly and respect local customs. For the Cross Country Party and other outdoor events, a dedicated fenced area will be provided for alcohol consumption. Drinking outside these areas is not allowed.
